Cause To Live for 2013 

I have been looking at the idea of faith and exploring it in my images.
I have been exploring how peoples perceptions of what it is and the stereotypes that people believe are so different to what it is in reality. I wanted to research this further, I went a conference Trent Vineyard for students and young adults.

I shot these images in the studio using a long exposure and  multiple flash. I wanted to create these images to explore the idea of a selfie and  how people will highlight elements of their lives, specific bits they want to display. she lighter exposures represent the rest of their personality and life, the parts they don't want to display on social media for the world to see. 

I would like to push this further and shoot with a dancer.

I created this giff with found images but I want to shoot images like this and put them togther using stop motion techniques as part of my video.

Shoot 1

This is my first shoot, I shoot these images to test out how dance photography would work and to get some insight as to where I want to take this project. I want to try using these images to create some sort of video in after effects using a combination of stills and moving image. 

If I plan use images  as part of the video to create stop motion I will need to be more precise in my photo making and use a tri pod.

This video by Zoë Hitchen has used lots of techniques I would like to try and explore, there is the use of dance and they way the it had been filmed. The use of the different ways of framing and the jerkiness between shots. it is slightly reminiscent of stop motion but developed much further. 

Chris Nash

Chris Nash's images are my main inspiration for this project, he uses dance but he turns it into something alien to what we expect from dance. his black and white images are stunning, the dancer turn into something beautiful and the frozen moment highlights the talent of the dancer and highlights what dance really is. 

I also love the use of costume in these images, it works so well with the movement creating dynamic shapes, characters and telling a story.

I love the use of movement in these images and how there is a focal point but there is movement where a longer exposure time has been used.  it changes the models from human to something slightly dream like.
